Steelers Mock Draft 1.0

Round 4 Pick 122

Kahale Warring – TE – San Diego State – 6’5″ 252 lbs

Players Considered: G Nate Davis, S Ugochukwu Amadi, IDL Kingsley Keke

Jesse James out, Kahale Warring in. The Steelers find another tall tight end, only this time, one with athleticism. Warring offers the ability to create mismatches on defense and also contribute run blocking. Vance McDonald has struggled with staying healthy, and Xavier Grimble has yet to show he can be a full time starter.

Round 5 Pick 141

Justice Hill – RB – Oklahoma State – 5’10” 190 lbs

Players considered: WR Stanley Morgan, LB Ben Burr-Kirven

At this rate the Steelers should just hire Mike Gundy as offensive coordinator. Completing the trio to join Mason Rudolph and James Washington, Hill offers a different dynamic to the backfield. Hill led all running backs with a 4.40 40-yard dash, 10’10” broad jump, and 40″ vertical. He adds an elusive, third-down option to an already dynamic backfield.

Round 6 Pick 175

Trysten Hill – IDL – Central Florida – 6’1″ 330 lbs

With legitimately no options left at safety, I took a nose tackle that can contribute on early run downs. He would compete for a roster spot with newly re-signed Daniel McCullers.

Round 6 Pick 192

Will Harris – S – Boston College – 6’2″ 210 lbs

A top five performer among safeties in virtually every combine drill, Harris is extremely athletic that can pair well with his football IQ. The captain at Boston College is the type of player the Steelers take fliers on.

Round 6 Pick 207

Kendall Sheffield – CB – Ohio State – 5’11” 185 lbs

Wouldn’t be a Steelers draft without a defensive player from OSU right?

Round 7 Pick 219

Isaiah Prince – OT – Ohio State – 6’6″ 310 lbs
