Draft Analysis: Matt Landers
- Height: 6’4″
- Weight: 200
- College: Arkansas
- Tape watched: Alabama, Texas A&M, South Carolina
- College Comparison: Tyquan Thornton
Pros
Much needed size for the class, Landers towers over most corners with his spider-like frame. He’s athletic as all hell, able to run and jump at elite levels. Landers has a huge catch radius and has evidence of snatching balls outside his frame. The upside and ceiling of Landers is hard to ignore. Teams will overdraft a 6’4″ 4.3s receiver every year.
Cons
After four years of college football, Matt Landers is still technically raw. He struggles to run refined routes. He can struggle to release off the line against physical corners. His wirey frame may not hold up to NFL physicality. Landers converts a low percentage of jump balls and contested catches and has an overall above average drop rate.
